JNP Coffee was founded by Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian, a Burundian native who returned home after earning her MBA to create real opportunity for local farmers. Through their Dushime program, JNP pays an additional 20–40 cents per pound for exceptional coffee—an incentive that directly supports families and strengthens rural communities.

Working in Burundi’s high-elevation Muyinga province, JNP now partners with more than 2,000 farmers across Ngozi and Gashoho. Their Bavyeyi coffee—named in honor of the hardworking parents behind every harvest—dries naturally for 20–30 days in Ngozi’s cool mountain climate, developing a crisp, balanced profile.

Jeanine’s mission extends beyond coffee. Her nonprofit, Burundi Friends International, has spent more than a decade funding education and economic empowerment throughout the region.
