Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Supernatural
This coffee is Anchorhead in a mug and a true fruit bomb!
Discover the exquisite Chelchele Natural from Ethiopia’s Gedeb district, a region renowned for producing some of the world’s most vibrant and complex coffees. Grown by smallholder farmers in the high-altitude Banko Chelchele community, this anaerobic natural microlot offers an incredible drinking experience.
Supernatural process is essentially a carefully controlled natural process designed to really amplify the fruit characteristics often found in natural Yirgacheffe coffees, while retaining clarity and elegance. After harvest, the coffee is hand-sorted, fermented in carbon fiber drums void of oxygen for 7-10 days, then sun-dried on raised beds.
In the cup we found an explosive profile, shining bright with a syrupy body, vibrant flavors, perfume-like aromatics and a fruit candy like sweetness. All if this is rounded out with exceptional clarity. One of our favorite coffees of the year, for sure.
